Our 224-bed hospital includes a medical ICU, cardiovascular ICU, PCU, open heart surgery center and behavioral health. In addition, we have accredited programs in orthopedics, chest pain, and inpatient diabetes, plus an award-winning emergency department.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as a resource person and expert in clinical practice while coordinating the implementation and maintenance of the nursing process within the hospital for an assigned shift in the absence of the Administrative staff.
Is available for consultation by phone or in person.
Evaluates clinical situations making competent judgements regarding patient care.
Keeps informed regarding critically ill patients and their plan of care each shift.
Evaluates effectiveness of care provided as evidenced by involvement Performance Improvement.
Assesses situation when employee fails to meet established standards of performance or conduct and provides appropriate documentation.
Assists with the resolution of identified problems on a shift and direct implementation of effective problem solving techniques
Supervises all clinical and non-clinical nursing unit personnel in the hospital for a designated shift.
What you will need:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in acute care setting with demonstrated leadership abilities, appropriate decision making and a history of positive interpersonal relationships with patient, visitors and hospital staff
Currently licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Texas.
Demonstrates knowledge of principles, methods and techniques demanded by current standards of nursing.
