The Digital Health Equity Program Manager for the Center for Health and Technology will collaborate with faculty and administrators to design and implement a comprehensive strategy that evaluates the challenges and inequities that exist within underserved and vulnerable patient populations in the telehealth and connected health realm. The position will collaborate closely with faculty and administration to evaluate and propose solutions to reducing the digital divide and implement strategies to bring validated projects from pilot to scale. Will focus on strategies to meet the needs of diverse communities and equity for patients in telehealth and digital health. The Program Manager will partner with a number of units to drive projects forward including Innovation Technology, Ambulatory Operations, Medical Staff Office, Legal/Compliance, the Regional Affiliations Office, Professional Billing Group, Office for Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Medical Interpreting, and the leadership of the UC Davis Medical Group. The Program Manager will facilitate program timelines, setting program agenda that will bring together the key stake holders to ultimately support a novel form of healthcare delivery that is equitable to all.
Experience in a related program management field.
Experience in project management, designing implementing and monitoring complex projects.
Experience in developing strategic direction and be able to parcel objectives into short-term tasks.
Must be able to assess and understand health equity issues currently affecting various underserved and vulnerable patient populations, including digital literacy, issues surrounding access to technology/connectivity.
Advanced skill to communicate effectively to improve participation and engagement around new models of care.
Advanced understanding of health care delivery models and workflows and be able to translate clinical need to virtual care delivery models that impact clinical workforce and patients.
Advanced critical thinking skill to evaluate use cases and best practice telehealth examples to include knowledge of telehealth models of care, financial sustainability models (knowledge of payment models, telehealth billing, etc.)
Advanced written and oral communication skills to prepare reports, project plans, and presentations, high competency with word processing, presentation software, spreadsheets, databases, and internet.
Able to understand health systems and community health delivery necessary to provide change management support and effectively support the operational adjustments necessary to embrace technology solutions.
Able to analyze and understand healthcare programs, manage administrative and fiscal information; and comprehend information to make timely and correct decisions.
An understanding of regulations and policies that relate to Telehealth, Virtual Care, and eHealth
