This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more This position is located at the St. Albans Community Living Center. a. Coordinates and evaluates the medical center infection control program. b. Facilitates and promotes the delivery of high quality nursing care to patients in all adult phases of the life cycle. c. Maintains frequent contact within patient and ambulatory care areas to identify patients with infections and/or at risk of acquiring infections. d. Provides leadership in the implementation of current standards of infection control practices for nursing, allied health, and other medical center employees. e. Participates in the development of comprehensive, individualized plan of care based on an assessment of patients' risk of infection. f. Recommends changes in practices based on analysis and evaluation of infection control data and current regulatory agency standards, and city, state and federal law/regulation. g. Assists patients with the necessary lifestyle adjustments related to health and anticipated changes in life.
