The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System (CTVHCS), Temple TX, is seeking an experienced Board Certified (BC) Gastroenterologist(GI) Clinician Leader to provide management, leadership and supervisory oversight of the Gastroenterology Section, as well as provide clinical care, consultation and follow-up patient management in General Gastroenterology, GI Procedures and Hepatology in an inpatient and outpatient setting. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Chief of Gastroenterology is expected to provide leadership oversight to the Gastroenterology Section, supervising GI Staff at the Olin E Teague Veterans’ Medical Center in Temple TX and at the Austin TX Veterans Outpatient Clinic (OPC), and working with the Associate Chief of Staff for the Medical Service, will ensure timely and effective patient care for eligible veterans. The CTVHCS is one of the largest integrated healthcare systems in the United States and provides a full range of services including medical/surgical hospital beds, a hospice unit, and community living center (CLC) beds. CTVHCS serves a Veteran population of more than 252,000 covering 35,243 square miles and eleven congressional districts in 39 counties. The CTVHCS has active affiliations with the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine, Baylor Scott & White Health System, and the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, with over 200 fellows, residents, interns, and students training at CTVHCS each year. Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, including shared call responsibilities.

Must be Board Certified in Gastroenterology Specialty

Expected range of annual salary of $335,000 to $350,000, in addition to an annual physician performance pay bonus up to $15,000.00 possible, with by-annual longevity pay increases
